The Landhotel Häuserl im Wald ideal base from which to explore the top ski areas of the Schladming-Dachstein region, as well as Schneebärenland incl. Tauplitz, Planneralm and Riesneralm!
Nothing more stands in the way of pure skiing enjoyment! The Schladming-Dachstein region and Ski amadé offer winter sports fans 860 kilometers of slopes, all on a single lift pass!
On the ski bus or directly with your own car, you are only about 15 km from the Hauser Kaibling, your gateway to the 4-Mountain Ski Area of Schladming. All other ski areas in this region can be reached by car in around 10 to 25 minutes.

Inside the hotel, snug rooms, the soothing warmth of the sauna area, the crackling tiled stove and an array of wintry delights from our kitchens and cellars promise a wonderful sense of seclusion, enjoyment of the finer things, along with much-needed relaxation and recuperation. Change down a gear and take time to rediscover what life is all about!

Outside, directly in front of the hotel, meadows and forests blanketed deep in snow entice you out with a sense of pure winter romance. Experience the silent face of winter, perhaps whilst out winter hiking, snowshoeing or ski touring, and allow yourself to be enchanted by the magical Alpine panoramas. And due to the elevation of the Mitterberg plateau, there is barely any mountain fog.
Our lantern-light hikes in Advent are particularly charming. On request, we would also be more than happy to organize for you a romantic sleigh ride.

Off-piste wintertime fun
But also convivial good times, fun and adventure aren't in the slightest neglected here at Hotel Häuserl im Wald either!

While the children are having all kinds of carefree fun out on the fields building snowmen, sliding or doing battle in a snowball fight, the grown-ups can put their skills and accuracy to the test during a lighthearted game of ice stock on the hotel's own rink.
Ca. 500 m from the hotel is a natural sledding hill which is also lit up after dark - sleds can be borrowed from the hotel free of charge.

In good snow conditions, a 12 km-long cross-country ski trail runs right past the hotel - we also rent out cross-country skis and boots to our guests at no cost!
