New: „Almenwelt Lofer“
With new investements Loferer Alm Bahnen will be replaced by „Almwelt Lofer“ - Austria's most beautiful skiing alp. Loferer Alm, 1400 m above sea level with its 30 alpine cabins creates an incomparable atmosphere. Many cabins can be rented out and a normal skiing holiday becomes a wonderful experience in the heart of the mountains.
Almenwelt Lofer – Austria's most beautiful hiking alp offers an amazing hike and bike experience in the Summer. Up to 400 animals are being reared on the alp.

After 30 years of operation with a 4 seater gondola, the time has come for investment in new and modern cable cars.
The new 8 seater cable cars have been designed in an extremely customer friendly way: The new valley station is now located closer to the center of Lofer, providing excellent possibilities to enter/exit the cable cars. Investing into the new 8 seater cable cars can be seen as a milestone towards customer satisfaction and the basis for further investments in the future. Within the next few years (as soon as possible) a new skiing piste (Schwarzeck) with a modern 8 seater chairlift as well as artificial snow supply will be opened on Loferer Alm. As a next step (a few years later) the newly built 8 seater cable car will be connected with the 2nd cable car section (currently Loferer Alm Bahn II). As a result one continuous journey from the valley to Loferer Alm can be provided.

Advantages of Almenwelt Lofer from Winter 2011/12 onwards:

• New and modern valley and mountain station with ticket office and toilet facilities.
• No stairs in valley station – ground floor access
• Improved and more frequent ski bus directly from/to valley station
• Capacity increase from 1000 people per hour to 1600 people per hour (final capacity 2400 people per hour)
• Faster transport in a modern, spacious 8 seater cable car
• Additional improvements in Schischule Sturm and Restaurant Loderbichl

• day ticket: if you have more than 2 children, then any child under the age of 15 skiers for free (proof of age and ID required).
