Suddenly, instead of branching off at La Brévine, you get the bit between your teeth and attack the Vieux-Châteleu hill, swoop down to Seignes and valiantly ascend the Cernets. Keep your eyes open: this is 100% wilderness. It’s all here, deep forests, steep cliffs, retired smugglers. Once at Les Cernets, you can either sleep at Hôtel des Rey (run by a family of famous cross-country ski champions) to get yourself together again, or return straight away to le Cernil and La Brévine to update your blog and amaze everyone with your Nordic skiing achievements."
