Showplace of untouched nature

The Stelvio National Park is one of the largest nature reserves in Europe. It stretches in the middle of the Ortles-Cevedale group from South Tyrol to Trentino and Lombardy, bordering the Swiss National Park to the northwest and the Parco dell' Adamello to the south.

The high alpine nature reserve is home to unique fauna and flora. Deer, roe deer, ibex, chamois, fish and birds, but also a diverse vegetation with rare flowers such as edelweiss and alpine rose feel at home in this habitat. The water of the glaciers in the Stelvio National Park around the Ortler-Cevedale Group is also invaluable for humans and animals.

In South Tyrol, ten communities at the foot and in the midst of the Ortles-Cevedale Group are ensuring that the Stelvio National Park is preserved in all its glory. Because the inhabitants of Stelvio, Prato, Glorenza, Tubre, Malles, Lasa, Silandro, Martello, Laces and Ultimo are aware of how important it is for the people themselves to preserve the diversity of this high-alpine nature.
