Brainstorms of the past and technical applications of the present!

The Technical Museum is reopened after several years of reconstruction, the long missed showpieces from the history of technology and industry are accessible again: The still airworthy Ettrich pigeon, the steam engines, the Bordeaux red Lohner Porsche, the show mine in the cellar...

These flashes of inspiration from the past have been supplemented by useful technical applications of the present: a computer tomograph or a television control room, for example. And not only for children there is an experimental department for experiencing and playing.

The renewal of the technical facilities is also evident from the outside: the Kulturpalast, which was built in 1913 and is only a few minutes' walk away from Schönbrunn Palace, has a new entrance hall at cellar level.

Its familiar appearance in opulent neo-baroque and art nouveau forms now contrasts with the sober addition of glass and aluminium.
