They enthuse concert audiences all over the world, are called the youngest ambassadors of Vienna and make music with world-class musicians: the Vienna Boys Choir. In Vienna they regularly perform in their new own concert hall "MuTh" and in the Hofburgkapelle.

In Vienna there is often the opportunity to hear the choirboys: Regularly as part of the Vienna Hofmusikkapelle at the Sunday Holy Masses in the Hofburgkapelle (September to June) and in the MuTh - this is their new concert hall in the Augarten, which will open in 2012. The name MuTh stands for "music and theatre ", and the MuTh is a stage for courageous music and theatre productions. - A stage that offers 400 visitors the best view and on which the actors have almost as much space as in the Vienna State Opera.

The MuTh is located right next to the Augartenpalais, where the Vienna Boys' Choir learns, lives and sings. The new music centre is a powerful cultural impulse in the Augarten. The MuTh builds bridges: between music and theatre, tradition and experiment, great artists and - above all - the new generation.

MuTh: Children's operas and Friday Afternoons
The Vienna Boys' Choir presents itself in the MuTh from kindergarten to the upper school (girls are also present), with a classical program from world music and pop to children's opera. At the Friday Afternoons they present their current repertoire.

Each season the choir boys take over one third of the MuTh programme. This leaves a lot of room for welcome guests: musical training institutions, festivals and cooperation partners perform at the MuTh.

*A Tribute to Vienna
Together with another major Austrian cultural institution - the Spanish Riding School - the Vienna Boys Choir regularly organizes the concert "A Tribute to Vienna". In the Winter Riding School of the Hofburg you can experience the highlights of the Ballet of the White Horses together with musical performances by the world-famous boys' choir.

100 voices in the Augarten
The approximately 100 Vienna Boys' Choir between the ages of ten and 14 are organised into four concert choirs. They give around 300 concerts a year - in front of almost half a million spectators all over the world.

The beginnings of the choir date back to 1498, when Emperor Maximilian I laid the foundation stone for the Vienna Hofmusikkapelle - of which the Vienna Boys Choir was a part.
