The route leads from Mels to Plons and from there over the tranquil yet surprisingly beautiful Hinterberg to Geisswiesen. On this varied section, you will find both colorful dry meadows and wet meadows. From Geisswiesen, follow the road to Schwarzenberg to the Vorsäss of Alp Kohlschlag, where the popular Sennäbeiz is located.
From Alp Kohlschlag, ride briefly towards Hintersäss, then turn left after a few meters and cross the romantic Cholschlagerbach. Follow the signposts downhill to Chapfensee. The nature reserve is crossed on wide gravel paths, with several fens to admire on both sides. At the rear dam, you have the opportunity to park your bike and explore the seclusion of Chapfensee on foot.
Return to the valley via an easy-to-ride Chapfensee road and Vermölerstrasse.
Mels train station - Plons - Tils - Geisswiesen - Schwarzenberg - Alp Kohlschlag - Chilchwald - Chapfensee - Mels
Normal bike equipment. Functional clothing is an advantage, as a long ascent is followed by an equally long descent.
Ride with foresight and behave respectfully towards other recreational users and traffic participants.
You can reach Mels by public transport in just over an hour from St. Gallen and Zurich.

With energy-conserving driving, no recharging is required. You can charge the battery on Kohlschlag with your own charger.
