The Glungezer cable cars will bring you to Halsmarter Inn or Tulfein Alp, where all kind of special mountain experiences await you. There are glorious walks high above the Inntal Valley, such as the well known Zirbenweg, a breath-taking high path that leads through the largest concentration of pine trees in the Alps and to the highest botanical garden in Europe.
When the weather is clear you are rewarded with fantastic distance views of 300 Alpine summits from the Glungezer peak, which towers 2,678m above sea level.
This perfect setting is completed by excellent mountain huts, including ancient ones such as the Tulfein-Alm, the Voldertalhütte or the Glungezerhütte. These are becoming increasingly popular as bases for various long-distance hikes (such as Via Alpina, Adlerweg, Traumpfad Munich-Venice way, the Glungezer&Geier way, the Olympiaweg and the Zirbenweg).
