Germany’s highest ski resort

Skiing on the Zugspitze plateau, Germanys only glacier ski area, is an experience of its own. Between snow and ice in the midst of mountains and cliffs: Zugspitze offers a ski area of superlatives at almost 3,000 meters (10,000 feet) above sea level which provides pure skiing and snowboarding fun on guaranteed natural snow. Even when the valley is submerged in winter fog, you will find the sun shining bright on Germany's highest ski slopes. On the Zugspitze summit, you will be overwhelmed by the matchless 360° panorama across a total of 400 peaks in four different countries and surprised by Germany’s highest sun deck. To reach skiers’ heaven one may take the cogwheel train or the Eibsee cable car.

Culinary delights on Zugspitze
Ultimate delights! Truly "haute" cuisine - traditional hearty Bavarian dishes or German cuisine with an international flair: The SonnAlpin Glacier Restaurant, the Glaciergarden restaurant and Panorama-Lounge 2962 bid you inside.

The fairly new “Dallmayr Kino” on the sun terrace of SonnAlpin additionally enables guests to enjoy a quick Espresso coffee or a Latte Macchiato in the laid back flair of an Italian café.

Freeriding – safe skiing on Zugspitze
Six months of reliable snow in a magnificent alpine panorama with powder snow up to your waist and virgin slopes – fantastic conditions that have drawn many of Freeriders to Germany’s highest mountain. Skiing off the organized natural ski slopes, though, requires more than good skiing skills. It also requires a strong sense of responsibility and alpine know-how. Accordingly, Bayerische Zugspitzbahn Bergbahn AG provides Freeriders with the most important information on Freeriding at the two Freeride checkpoints for the second time this winter. On the boards at the exits from the cogwheel train and the Glacier cable car, for example, winter sports enthusiasts will find tips on the right equipment, a brief introduction to avalanches and an automatic avalanche beacon checkpoint among other useful items.
