Hiihtoalue Samoëns - Sixt - Le Grand Massif
"Samoëns is part of the Grand Massif ski area which offers 265 km of slopes divided over 5 interlinked resorts: Morillon, Samoëns, Les Carroz, Sixt Fer à Cheval and Flaine. The Grand Massif ski slopes are considered as one of the largest, finest domains in France. For a long time, they were used as a training ground by Antoine Deneriaz, the gold medal winner in the downhill event at the 2006 Winter Olympics.
Samoëns has more to offer than just the skiing with all its different winter activities, snowshoe walks, archery, dogs sleigh, paragliding, ice skating etc... This authentic mountain village is a short distance from the glacial cirque of Fer à Cheval, one of the most splendid limestone sites in the Alps. Samoëns together with its nine surrounding hamlets, all situated at about 700 meters above sea level, not only has an exceptionally rich heritage, but also a thriving life throughout the year. This is not a purpose built resort. This winter is as well the opportunity to discover the heritage of the market town at its stone masons.
Samoëns is member of FAMILY PLUS mountain."
